Indian Idol is a popular television show on Indian television, a singing talent contest to determine the best undiscovered young singer in the country. It is based on the international Idol series format, launched by UK show Pop Idol.
The program airs two back-to-back prime-time shows a week: the first night features an hour of performances while the second night features an elimination. The show is produced and broadcast on Sony TV, India and is co-produced with FremantleMedia (makers of the Idol series), which is owned by the German media corporation Bertelsmann.
Indian Idol 4 registration began on April 1, 2008. The show proposes that auditions will take place in Calcutta, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Gwalior and Lucknow, with the possibility of other cities being added in the future. The fourth season will see Anu Mallik and Javed Akthar on the hot seats as they take judges' chair once again for the show. New to this season are singer Kailash Kher and Indian actress Sonali Bendre.

Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena Colors have launched India's first cricket-format show-'Ek Khiladi EK Haseena', which is a combination of two of India's biggest passion 'Cricket and Glamour' The show will team up present day cricketing heroes with some of the most beautiful ladies from Indian Television to fight out not on the grass but on the dance-floor. Sushmita Sen and former captain of Pakistan cricket team Wasim Akram would judge the contestants.
The show will be hosted by Sandhya Mridul and will be aired on Colors from Sept 26 every Friday ans Saturday at 9 pm. "The show is very different and they have managed to get present day cricketers to participate in the show. People will laugh when they see me dancing, said Bhajji. The winner of the show takes home a cash-prize of 25 lakh.
Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, which will span across five weeks (10 episodes), will showcase six cricketers -- S Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Irfan Pathan, Vinod Kambli and Nikhil Chopra -- dancing along with television actors like Mona Singh (of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin fame),
Bigg Boss is a reality TV programme broadcast in India. It is the Indian version of the Big Brother format, which was first developed by Endemol in the Netherlands. The first series of the show aired between November 2006 and January 2007. The second series begins on 17 August 2008.
The second season of Bigg Boss premiered on 17 August 2008, on new broadcaster Colors. The finale is currently scheduled to be on 9 November 2008. The show will run for three months. Bigg Boss 2 returned with Shilpa Shetty as the new host, who previously won the fifth series of Celebrity Big Brother in the United Kingdom.
The new season featuring 14 contestants competing for a cash prize of Rs 7,500,000. As part of the format, 14 contestants are living in the Bigg Boss 2 house built in Lonavala, located 96 kms away from Mumbai. The new house is much more stylish and modernized this time. It has a very contemporary gym for the contestants whose movements will be tracked over 84 days, 24x7 by 32 cameras. The show is aired on Colors at 10 PM daily.
After the first day at the House, the housemates have nominated Raja Choudhary and Sanjay Nirupam for eviction. One of them would be evicted on the basis of a nationwide poll by SMS. On the second day, Jade Goody was informed of her cervical cancer, and she left the show immediately.
